About Me

K’lyn D’Elia married her best friend in 1997 and went on a European adventure with him as he completed a 3-year tour for the Air Force. After returning to her hometown, she worked in customer service for three years until she was finally able to live her dream of becoming a mother. In August of 2004, her daughter Kennedy was born. K’lyn’s life completely changed. She devoted her time and energy into being the best wife and mother she could be, and was blessed to stay home to raise her daughter. In September of 2007, her son Lincoln was born. Because her daughter became an older sibling, K’lyn wanted to focus on making sure that her son’s language development was equal to that of her older child. She had been warned that sometimes, with an older sibling, children don’t learn to speak as quickly or as fluently as that of an only child. That’s when K’lyn and her family discovered baby sign language. She began signing to Lincoln when he was about 3 months old. She began learning everything she could about ASL and watched Kennedy thrive with it also. As Kennedy learned how to sign she was eager to help her mom teach Lincoln all that she knew. They were amazed at the results. At 9 months old, Lincoln began signing to them and they haven’t stopped. K’lyn was so pleased about how quickly her children were learning vocabulary and saw how learning to sign opened up a whole new world to them. She was also very grateful that signing strengthened the bond within their family. She is very passionate about teaching other parents how to sign with their babies as well.
